Verify a certificate.
Every original, and every numbered print, leaves the studio with a certificate. The serial on it resolves here — so provenance can be checked by anyone, at any time, without asking the studio.
what a certificate proves
That the work came from this studio, which work it is, and — for an edition — which number it is out of how many. It does not transfer copyright, which always stays with the artist.
