commissions

A painting for one wall.

Most of the studio’s largest works began as a conversation about a room. A commission is not a custom order — it is the same practice, aimed at a particular light.

There is no case study on this page yet. Room, study, and installation photographs will be added only when a real commission can be shown.

how it works

  1. 01

    The conversation

You describe the room, the light it gets through the day, and what you want to feel when you walk in. Photographs of the wall help more than anything else.

  2. 02

    The proposal

The studio responds with a direction: scale, palette, surface, and a price. Nothing is charged for this stage, and there is no obligation to continue.

  3. 03

    Studies

Two or three small painted studies, photographed and sent. You choose one, or ask for another pass. This is where the work is really decided.

  4. 04

    Painting

Six to twelve weeks depending on scale and how the surface builds. You receive progress photographs at the points that matter, not a weekly report.

  5. 05

    Approval

The finished painting is photographed in daylight before it leaves. If it is not right, it does not ship — and you are not committed.

  6. 06

    Delivery

Crated, insured, and delivered with its certificate. For large works within reach of the studio, hung in person.
